Geopolitical Cooking Performance, 2012
As part of PERFORMING POLITICS - Critical Spatial Practices in Art & Architecture. Tempelhof Airport Berlin 07-08 June 2012. Curated by Eric Ellingsen and Álvaro Urbano.
Cooking+Exposing 20 sites of contested urbanism within the real estate crisis in Spain, as a way to explain the actual entanglement of environmental protection and destruction in speculative politics. During the urban boom of the 2000s, capital was nothing else than a circulation of territorial lines according to private interests. The arbitrary demarcation of these boundaries was a corrupted method to add fictitious value to land. Urbanization, as well as Ruralization, have been largely used as the main way for accumulation of capital.
All ingredients for the Geopolitical Paella were brought from Spain, and chosen for their label of protected designation of origin (D.O.P.) whenever possible.
